My new baby; a mother-child moment

Last night, or actually early this morning, I felt my new baby for the first time! I was awake and noticed the baby shifting inside my womb. Very faint, but I’m sure it was not my colon. So I tried to get it moving a bit more, by placing my hand on my tummy and it did react!

For me it’s magic; just this tiny baby and I, in the middle of the night. But so close, so precious. It will even take a few months before Marc can actually feel my baby from the outside. These first movements are a true mother-child thing… Touching!

I love Saturdays!

Yeah, I just love Saturdays! It’s the first day of the weekend, after 5 days of getting up early I can sleep in again. And when I wake up I can just take my time to get up and going. And then this whole day is stretching out to be filled with things I don’t have to do, but like to do…

Ok, except laundry. That’s not something I like to do, but needs to be done. But today I’ve already done the worst part of it; the one with all the socks and underwear. I hate sorting it out and folding it up again. But that one is done yet today!!!

What I like about Saturdays is that everyone has this relaxed way of being busy; neighbours doing their garden, rumbling around their house or cleaning out their car. And other people are doing groceries. And not just for necessary stuff, but also a nice bouquet of flowers or something yummy from the bakery.

What am I going to do today?

- when Lara wakes up we’ll get ready to go out and get another “pregnancy box” (some stores are handing those out to pregnant women; filled with advertisements, coupons, magazines and free baby & mother stuff! Love ‘em!)

- when we’re at the stores I’ll also see if I can get some nice herb-plants for the kitchen windowsill. Yummy; basil, parsley, thyme.

- Maybe we can combine this trip with a visit to my parents; always nice to chat a bit. And my dad has this huge bag of rabbit-food; I am almost out of it… J

- Marc was talking about getting a new DVD-player, so after Lara’s nap we might get out to get that.

- Tonight we’ll indulge in the lovely potato-salad we made yesterday. Can’t wait! It will be even much better than yesterday, now all the flavours have mixed.

- And then we’ll probably crash on the couch and watch a movie on our new DVD-player.

See, this day is going to be fun!
