I love giving gifts. Gifts that suit de person who receives it; I enjoy to think this through before buying or making someone a gift. To me a gift is not about how much it's worth in euro's, dollars or yen, but about the thought behind it. Wanting to show the receiver that you care, love and simply noticed him or her. I think this already starts with putting effort in crafting or cooking. Or even with thinking about sharing some of the wealth you enjoy yourself; an overflowing harvest of strawberries, walnuts or rubarb. Or passing down some clothes you or your children don't wear anymore.
Gifts that have made me happy recently: a lovely dishcloth (I actually use it as a sidetablecloth), a cupcake, a bag of a special flavoured tealeaves, a magazine with cake recipes, a Mickey Mouse oven mitt.
To me these gift show the friendship behind it; the friends who gave me those gifts know what I like, what makes me happy and they've taking the effort to find or make it for me. I love it!
