Art

Lara has a big chalk board in her bedroom and often before we put her to bed we draw some more on it. Lara is very good at commanding us what to draw and we’ve become quite good at following her commands. And believe me; she’s asking the best of our creative skills. For instance; can you draw a helicopter? Or a “Lewis car” (= the Formula 1 car of Lewis Hamilton)? Or what about a slide from the playground? There’s just one thing I haven’t been able to draw for her yet; “apple sauce”. If anyone has tips on this one; let me know!

For now; enjoy our chalk board view!

(can you find the banana, the chopper, the rainbow, the kite, the triangle, the moon, cloud & sun, the boat, the apple and the McDonalds sign?)

Getting back in shape II

So, it’s been a week now and I’ve been swimming 5 out of 9 days. May I be a bit proud of myself?
I cranked up the amount of lanes from 14 to 20 per time. And I decided to keep it like that.
I definitely feel the difference; my back is much better and generally I feel more fit. So two more weeks to go…

And some more good news: Mika has slept through the night for 3 days now. His nights are now about 12 hours long, which makes that my nights are back too! Yahoooo!

Getting back in shape

Since I got sick of my post partum body I came up with a plan. Totally not like me, but I believe it’s the only thing that might work in a short time:
For the coming 3 weeks I’ll go swimming 4 to 5 times a week! It will help me strengthen my back- and belly muscles and all kinds of other muscles that have grown lazy. Hopefully it will also make my waist to reappear, so my t-shirts won’t crawl up anymore. And I guess it will boost my general condition, which might make me feel more fit.

You might ask; why just these 3 weeks? Well, after that I have to get back to work and won’t be able to squeeze in sports that easily. Or since I am not sporty at all; probably I won’t work out at all… So, it’s 3 weeks until my maternity leave is over.

And hey, I’m not starting tomorrow; I started today! (and I can tell you; after 2 lanes already I started to feel out of breath. So it’s pretty necessary…)
